Cherry, mint and earth flavours dominate in this vibrant red, with floral and strawberry elements peeking through as it builds on the palate.

Fine in weight but packed with fruit, this is a wildly scented Nebbiolo with a cranberry and cherry core and I expect that it will be another in a run of successes for this famous estate.

Juicy, round, lively and fleshy. Hint of milkiness on the nose. Firm underneath. Very exciting.

The 2013 Langhe Freisa Kyè is remarkably polished and, dare I say elegant, in this vintage. The bombastic style of some years past has been supplanted by a much more silky, perfumed expression of Freisa. Bright, nuanced and finely sculpted, the Kyè offers extraordinary finesse, Lavender, rose petal, sweet red cherry and mint are laced into the exquisite finish.
Panel Tasting, Decanter, December 2016
A pleasant attack of apple, lime and talcum powder on the nose. Noticeably more weight than expected with great persistence and some tension on the back palate that is zesty, precise and mineral.
Boisset is very dynamic so I shouldn't have been surprised at how good this was. Lively and racy with excellent tension - everything you want! A fine example of the beauty of 2014.

A Bourgogne Blanc that delivers more than its appellation would suggest. It could almost be a village-level wine, and it is just reaching perfect maturity now. Serve it decanted and see what your guests think it is.
Gregory Patriat is the winemaker for the JC Boisset range - high-quality wines from purchased rather than estate-grown grapes. The minerality impressed me here, as you don't expect much from a mere Bourgogne. It has complex aromas and an appealing raciness too. concentrated, fruity and perfectly round Champagne that reveals a great tension and mineral complexity. It also has a long and salty finish.
