We feel that Italian producers of DOCG wines should be given the same freedom as producers from every other wine producing country in the world to use the closure (be that natural cork, screwcap, vinolok, crown seal etc.) they feel is best suited to their wine. As you may be aware, these producers are currently forbidden from doing this due to a Ministerial decree.

No matter which side of the ‘cork debate’ you sit, we believe that winemakers should be allowed to select a closure of their choice without falling foul of the law, so we are asking people to write to the Italian Minister of Agriculture to request that he revoke this decree.
